Farewell

This is the moment we have been waiting for for all the three years;). I am really going to miss a lot of people and our tutors. I will remember all the good things I experienced there and believe me there are a lot of them. The only thing I really am dissatisfied with is the mark I got for my B.A .I was totally disappointed with the way it was evaluated. So much heart and effort, but anyway I am going to have my M.A checked by somebody else. Now I don't know what to do: whether to study at Ifa(OF COURSE IF I GET THERE ) or wsjo, which is of course on lower level but free of stress at least to lesser extend. Now I have some time to think about. Send me your advice. Really hope to stay in touch with you all.

My childhood

This is me with my cousin when I was 3 or 4.You can see in this photo that I had some leadership qualities from an early age which is very helpful in the teaching profession though:). Wasn't I cute? Total blond who loves dresses. I guess that hasn't changed that much:):):)

Absolutorium

We were very moved with the ceremony and so were our families and friends. It was very solemn and although the gown was not very comfortable we all enjoyed it.Too bad not many students decided to attend it:(

My teaching practice

Today something very positive happened as far as my teaching practice. But let's start from the beginning. Because the teacher who observed my lessons couldn't come to my lesson I decided to video tape it. You know my technical skills so I was horrified as I had never used cam corder before. The school I had practice in is not one of the best so to say. The students are quite misbehaved and I was really afraid of the lesson. Besides their level of English is low (poor teacher by the way). I had some problems getting the right tape to the camera as the shop assistants said they hadn't even training as for the cameras and find the person who would be so good as to find some time to record my lesson. Finally I found Monika who without hesitation agreed to do it(Thank you so much:) But despite the difficulties I had the lesson turned out to be quite successful. It wasn't work of art and I made some mistakes when I listen to it but at least they were participating. I was so shocked as they were listening to me and even seemed to understand what I was explaining. It turns out that camera is a good thing if you want to discipline the students. All in all I am very happy and hope that I will solve my problems with my action research as well.

Writing my B.A

The topic of my B.A is as follows:"What grammatical errors do students of high school make during free-speaking activities". As you can see it is pretty long and thorough. Why have I chosen this topic? hmm let me think. I had virtually no idea what do write about and one day my friend told me that maybe errors is something interesting to delve into and I said why not. So far I have written the theoretical part of my thesis and now I have to focus on the practical part. It is not that easy as my action research as they call it will involve recording at least a few groups of learners in at least two free-speaking activities which is ok but I have not got much time for that. There is going to be the mature exam in high school any day now and I may have problems with this. Also I heard that some headmasters of high schools don't want to allow students to recors their learners as they are afraid of 'losing face'.I do hope that there will be one friendly headmaster that will not be afraid of that because otherwise I will not finish my B. A. this year which would be a disaster.Summing up I regret that I did not start to do it earlier.

White Massai

Yesterday I was watching a very good film. Its title is "White Massei(die WeiMassai) in German. It is a brilliant drama film and the book is very good too (although I haven't had the opportunity to read it yet). What is even more surprising is that this film is based on true story

Here is a short summary of the film:

*At the end of her holidays in Kenya, Swiss businesswoman Carola, meets the Samburu warrior, Lemalian, who cuts a handsome figure with his weapons and traditional dress. Carola falls in love and on impulse, cancels her return flight and sends her boyfriend home alone. The love of her life turns into a arduous journey taking her to the limits...
